New Wine Counseling was birth from a vision and a desire to help people make a real change in their lives. My Name is Nicolas Torrez, I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and New Wine Counseling is my vision coming to pass. I Graduated from The University of Texas Pan American with a Bachelors' Degree In Rehabilitative Services with a concentration on Addiction Studies. I also hold an Associate degree in Psychology from South Texas College. I have been in recovery since December 23, 2006. As a person in recovery, I understand the complicated nature of Substance Use Disorders. I rely on my life experience to better understand the situations that those who might need my services could possibly find themselves in. In my experience i have found that a combination of Cognitive Behavior therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing can be very effective when helping people change Substance use behavior, Criminal Behavior associated with Substance use Disorder, Enabling Behavior, and Codependency. My goal is to empower you to make a life long change for the better.
